BEST NFL DRAFT QB PROSPECTS
The College Football Today Best NFL Draft Quarterback prospects are evaluated by the top NFL Draft expert in the world Scout Trout, who has accurately predicted who the best quarterbacks were in the last three NFL Draft classes. Scout Trout also predicted who the worst NFL Draft quarterbacks would be far in advance like Mitch Trubisky and many others. Scout Trout also predicted almost a full season in advance that Kyler Murray would win the Heisman and be drafted number one overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. Scout Trout also predicted that Colin Cowherd was egregiously wrong about NFL Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield and he just won the wild card playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. When it comes to evaluating top tier NFL Draft quarterback prospects, there is none better globally than Scout Trout.

Drew Lock 6'4, 225LB - Missouri Tigers - Drafted 42nd Overall by the Denver Broncos
Strengths: Very good arm strength with outstanding accuracy. Exhibits very good timing with his receivers at Mizzou and has been the most prolific QB statistically, as he has started since his freshmen season. Led Big 12 in TD passes in 2017, over Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield.
Weaknesses: Has not played well against top opponents as cited by SB Nation. He is indecisive at times and has a slight hitch in his throwing motion that delays his delivery. This could explain how his play can drop off against more intuitive and speedy defensive backs, which should be a cause for concern moving forward and needs to be addressed.

Justin Herbert 6'6,233LBs - Oregon Drafted 6th Overall by The Los Angeles Chargers (2020 NFL Draft)
Strengths: Reminds me a lot of Carson Wentz in his overall athleticism and is a major reason he is being highly regarded as the best QB in the 2019 NFL Draft. He comes from a outstanding offensive scheme that is proven to build Quarterbacks to the likes of a Marcus Mariotta and at 1:04 into the Cal highlights, you will see how well he is able to push the ball downfield. He is very well coached in "looking off" the defensive backs and has highly active feet in the pocket, while using great body weight transition upon release of the football.
Weaknesses: While Herbert has been very efficient, he lacks the big numbers you will see out of many QB's in this years NFL Draft. His mobility in the pocket will benefit him heavily at the next level, but Oregon's spread attack is always prolific in the run game nationally, which does create many wide open opportunities for the Quarterback when executing play action plays.

Jarrett Stidham 6'2,210LBs - Auburn Drafted 133rd overall by the New England Patriots
Strengths - Shows a very quick release in the Auburn Tigers defeat of the Alabama and great overall mechanics in the pocket. Very athletic and can step in in the pocket to avoid pressure or take off when a play breaks down. His leadership and command of the huddle are also noteworthy, as he exhibits what it takes to be a excellent NFL QB. NFL scouts have also told me that this young man's football IQ is that of a NFL QB already.
Weaknesses - Has a "side-arm" release that some scouts are worried about, but so did Dan Marino. Had injury issues in the past, which brings some questions into his durability, but reminds me a lot of Baker Mayfield when I turn on the tape. Both have very good athletics, not extremely tall, but use their high football IQ to get the ball into the play-makers hands in prime position to light up the scoreboard.

Clayton Thorson 6'4,227LBs - Northwestern Drafted 167th overall by the Philadelphia Eagles
Strengths - Has a very quick release and gets the ball out of his hands quickly out of the gun, his very smooth delivery and over the top throwing motion are very conducive to producing consistent play moving forward. As a four year starter, Clayton has been able to create plays for the Wildcats, even when his supporting cast decides they want to take the day off.
Weaknesses - NFL scouts have told me that they are worried about his ability to push the ball downfield and they have believed it to be a mechanical issue. I do not see many flaws in his delivery, but he could use some core strengthening to start ripping the ball downfield more effectively.

Daniel Jones 6'5,220LBs - Duke Drafted 6th overall by the New York Giants
Strengths - When you are being coached by the "QB whisperer" David Cutcliffe, NFL scouts will take notice when you start to sling it like Daniel Jones. Word on the street is that he will be back for 2019, as he has suffered some injuries the past two seasons. Cutcliffe's coaching extends all the way to the Manning's and you can see many similarities in Daniel's play, as he has a wicked quick release. Once he makes his mind up, the football is seen traveling from point A to B with great overall velocity.
Weaknesses - As I stated above, staying healthy, because as you will see against Virginia Tech, Jones's probably throws the best football in all of college football. On the very first play, you will witness how to properly avoid pressure to step up in the pocket and deliver a missile to his receiver.

Will Grier 6'2,221LBs - West Virginia Drafted 100th overall by the Carolina Panthers
Strengths - A rapid quick release is shown on the first play against Texas Tech and as you will see, the ball is fit into a very tight window for a touchdown The accuracy Will Grier shows on his deep ball at 1:14 into this highlight is exceptional and he is able to control the safety over the top extremely well by using great mechanics, while looking to the off side he is throwing the football. Not to many competing at this level right now in college football today.
Weaknesses - not one person is arguing that Will Grier is probably the best passing QB in all of college football. His attitude and overall play have gotten much better since the loss to Iowa State and Grier is starting to look like he could be the next prolific passer in the NFL.

Devlin Hodges 6'2,210LBs - Samford (FCS) Undrafted FA signed by Pittsburgh Steelers (best OVR QB rating in 2019 NFL Draft class)
The best 2019 NFL draft QB was former Samford Quarterback Devlin Hodges, who was the starting QB for the Pittsburgh Steelers this past season and had the best QBR in the 2019 draft class.
I found an article earlier in the year about what I think could be the Top NFL Draft Quarterback Prospect and it stated that Samford's Quarterback Devlin Hodges could be the best player in the State of Alabama. This intrigued me to do some more research on the Quarterback at Samford and low and behold, I thought I was staring at the next Drew Brees for this years 2019 NFL Draft. - FCS Player Of The Year Award Winner
Strengths - Hodges is broke Air Mcnair's FCS passing record and very well could be the most prolific passer in NFL Draft history. When you watch Devlin operate against Florida State in the near upset in Tallahassee, it feels as if you are watching Drew Brees in the pocket, as he has a very similar delivery that makes his spectacular throws seem effortless. At 1:33, another Drew Brees like pump fake is given and he is able to quickly rotate his body to make a eye opening pass down the sideline for a touchdown.
Weaknesses - You can't say he has not played against top tier talent, he has a Brett Favre mentality that could bite him, if he didn't throw the football like Drew Brees. Other than that, this QB might just the most polished right now in the entire 2019 NFL Draft.

Ryan Finley 6'4,212LBs - NC State Drafted 104th overall by the Cincinnati Bengals
Strengths - Ryan Finley is one of the most talked about QB's in the 2019 NFL Draft and for good reason. He has led NC State to a undefeated record and reminds me a lot of Andrew Luck in the way he manages a football game. With over 3,000 yards the past two seasons and with his performance thus far, Finley could be looking at possibly going in the first round of this years NFL Draft, per multiple sources.
Weaknesses - Finely operated out of a pro style scheme that involves a lot of play action passes, which is very successful for the Wolfpack. This scheme has Finley throwing many passes while on the run, in which he is only looking to one receiver and/or side of the football field. He shows the ability to fit the ball in small windows, while throwing his receivers open, but can he get through a five receiver route combination in the NFL? He will need to know where his "check down" route is regularly if he gets picked high, as defenses are getting much faster in the NFL today.
