ACC 2020 COACH OF THE YEAR
The College Football Today, RokFin & ESPN Plus ACC 2020 Coach of The Year goes to the Miami Hurricanes Head Coach Manny Diaz. Coach Diaz took over as the Canes head football coach in his head coaching debut in 2019 and things were borderline horrific on the offensive side of the football. The Canes finished 6 & 7 and were beaten 14 to 0 by the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, as Coach Diaz was heavily scrutinized down in South Florida and people were highly skeptical if the son of the former Miami Mayor was the right man for the job. In 2020, the Canes came out guns a blazing on the offensive side of the football and Diaz made the right off-season moves to improve the Canes to a 8 & 3 record, as well as a top 25 finish to the 2020 college football season. If the model of growth remains consistent, the Canes should be contending for a bid to the ACC championship in 2021 and he has done a marvelous job out on the recruiting trail.
