WISCONSIN VS SOUTH FLORIDA![]()
Wisconsin vs South Florida got to see the Badgers defense really step up to deliver 3 and outs for the Wisconsin defense. South Florida started out the 2018-2019 season with seven straight wins, only to follow with 6 losses in a row, which has started whispers of Coach Charlie Strong being on the hot seat. Johnathan Taylor is honestly one of the best players in all of College Football Today and is able to carry the Badgers offense year in and year out.
Wisconsin has dominated in the first half of this contest and have found other ways to move the football rather than on the back of Johnathan Taylor. The South Florida offense is struggling to get anything going, as the Badger defense has been relentless in their play up front and have shown outstanding pursuit defensively. Taylor has already doubled the South Florida Bulls offensive production and it could be another long season for the USF Bulls if they cannot get things going offensively. The current score of the Badgers vs USF game is 49-0 and it appears the South Florida Bulls faithful are leaving the party early. ARMY FOOTBALL![]()
Army football was able to get out alive against Rice with a victory and were able to win all of their close games in 2018, except against the Oklahoma Sooners. They only lost to the College Football Playoff bound Sooners by a score of 28-21 last year and were able to defeat a Rice team that I believe is on the rise in Conference USA football in 2019. They only completed 7 touchdown passes in all of 2018 and were able to win the game on a brilliant play action pass by a score of 14-7. This type of option style offense can really lull a defensive unit to sleep and Army was able to play disciplined football to once again hail victorious.
FCS FOOTBALL TOP 25
Our fourth ranked FCS football top 25 team in 2019 got off to a fantastic start against Sacred Heart and Chris Ferguson was able to put up over 400 yards passing in the first half. Maine did not score in the second half and could have taken their foot off the brakes in the last two quarters of this FCS match-up. Chris Ferguson finished the night an impeccable 23-29 for 423 yards and 3 touchdowns.
WEEK 1 COLLEGE FOOTBALL![]()
Week 1 of the college football season has been very eventful and we are beginning to see who is who in the world of College Football Today. Michigan State was able to defeat a Tulsa team who was 3-9 last season, by a score of 28-7. Michigan State has had a great defense year in and year out, but still appear to be slightly off offensively, but a win is a win. Utah State is battling it out in a slug fest with the Wake Forest football team and is in a very competitive ball game, which Wake Forest has found a way to pull out the victory 38-35 in the opening week of College Football.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEK 1
College football in week 1 will feature the Rocky Mountain Showdown tonight on the ESPN family of networks. I covered the 2018 Rocky Mountain Showdown at College Football Today and it has been a lop sided affair, as the Colorado Buffs have dominated in this very popular season opener in the beautiful state of Colorado. We will be updating this contest, as well as the other match-up between Oregon State and Oklahoma State at College Football Today. Colorado State is finding a way to get the job done currently early into the 2nd quarter and leads the Buffs 14-10!

HBCU FOOTBALL KICKOFF 2019![]() The HBCU Kickoff for the 2019 college football season will take place in Atlanta, Georgia at Georgia State University this Sunday at 3:00PM on ESPN 2. We cannot be more pleased that Coach Clay Perry of Scout Trout Elite will be covering the match-up between Bethune Cookman and Jackson State University and Coach Trout has been studying immensely on the historical factors that reside at Bethune Cookman University. In this must see video below, Coach Trout talks about his experiences last year at the Grambling vs Southern Bayou Classic and more in-depth about the legendary figure Mary Mcleod Bethune, who has been an instrumental figure in our education system. MEAC VS SWAC CHALLENGEThe MEAC vs SWAC Challenge in 2019 will be Bethune Cookman facing off against Jackson State University and we are extremely amplified beyond measures for this event. We will be covering the MEAC vs SWAC challenge for the 2020 NFL Draft at College Football Today, as Coach Clay Perry will be representing Scout Trout Elite & College Football Today on the sidelines. Watch the video below and visit the official MEAC vs SWAC Challenge website by clicking HERE! HBCU KICKOFF 2018![]() The HBCU kickoff in 2018 seen PVAMU beat the piss out of NC Central and Dawonya Tucker emerged on our NFL Draft board at College Football Today. This kid is dynamite packed into a small bundle of straight up lightning when he touches the football field. We also have a old D1 commit at Scout Trout Elite named Jermaine Jackson out of Kentucky who is going to make a big impact this year for the Prairie View A&M football team. We recently were able to visit the PVAMU campus at Scout Trout Elite. Watch the video below, where Coach Trout smashes a 60 yard drop kick! GRAMBLING STATE FOOTBALLAfter this Grambling State football preview from last year, we will have more extensive coverage of the HBCU kickoff and MEAC vs SWAC Challenge, but respects must be paid at College Football Today. ![]() Having been at the 2018 Bayou Classic where I got to witness most of the festivities of the events in New Orleans and with the big Grambling Tigers' win over Southern, I started researching one of the most winning college football teams of all-time. If Coach Fobbs can win recruiting battles against the likes of Nick Saban and the University of Alabama, well, I would have to say the resurgence of Grambling football, as well as HBCU Football is more alive than it has ever been. Maurice Robinson chose Grambling over the likes of Alabama, Florida and LSU, while also stating that he wants to play defensive back for the Tigers. This extremely bright young man was quoted saying, “It was a hard process from the start,” Robinson told The News-Star Monday. “I had big colleges looking at me. All of that could get into your head if you don’t take care of the process the right way. It was an easy decision to make. I didn’t really fall into the light that they shined on me, I didn’t get into the hype they threw at me." Well I guess this young man realizes his path to the next level involves playing time and a coach like Broderick Fobbs who shows compassion, understanding and an unfathomable amount of loyalty to the players he coaches. Who knows, maybe those D1 powerhouses were not giving him a choice to play at the position he desired, but offering him as the stellar dual-threat QB that he is. It really is not our job to speculate as thousands of scenarios could have led to this young man choosing Grambling and Coach Fobbs is a man who looks at the recruit, not the stars attached to their name. Maybe Robinson felt the sincerity of the Grambling program and also recognized the historic program that has existed at Grambling and is re-surging under Coach Fobbs. COACH EDDIE ROBINSON LEGACYCoach Eddie Robinson will have a long lasting legacy that is unmatched by any other coach at College Football Today. ![]() Eddie Robinson is known as the greatest collegiate football coach of all-time by many in our industry. He was able to build Grambling State into a powerhouse during a very hard period of time for African American athletes in the southern states of America, as they were not allowed to play for southern programs. Coach Robinson retired in 1997 with 408 wins, 165 losses and 15 ties. Coach Robinson was inducted into the college football hall of fame in 1997 and was the most winning-est college football coach of all-time when the NCAA stripped Coach Paterno of 111 wins, only to return them to the scandal-ridden former Penn State head football coach. More than 200 of players that were coached by Eddie Robinson went on to the old AFL, CFL and NFL, as he set the standard for college coaches across the country on how to build a program. Written at last years Bayou Classic in New Orleans by Scout Trout.Coach Fobbs has the Tiger faithful dancing once again to the beautiful sound of the Grambling State band, who produces magic every time they get to perform, just as the football team did in 2017. Grambling was able to defeat "Air McNair's" alma mater Alcorn State with a score of 40-32 for yet another Grambling Tigers SWAC championship. Coach Fobbs should be the topic of conversation when you look at how he has been able to build Grambling State back to a point that would make the legendary Coach Robinson extremely proud. But after checking out this year's Grambling State team and how practices have gone so far, I believe Grambling will once again be hoisting the SWAC championship trophy and make a run in the FCS playoffs if granted the chance to compete. They will bring home another HBCU National championship, but why are they not talked about when it comes to the FCS playoffs. VICE News wrote a very good article on why SWAC and MEAC teams do not compete in the FCS playoffs, as we never truly get an FCS or 1AA National Champion, outright. It's very intriguing that both 1AA Historically Black conferences have their own independent "Black College National Championship" and cannot compete in the FCS playoffs. That being said, we will be taking every team in 1AA into consideration when we crown our champion at the conclusion of the 2018 FCS Season. We also take into consideration that Grambling State has produced over 100 players that have gone onto the NFL and will continue to show resiliency, toughness and character moving forward under the new legendary figure, Coach Broderick Fobbs. When they say Geaux Tigers in Louisiana this season, remember the inept Ed Orgeron doesn't have a pot to piss in and the best coach in your state resides at Grambling State University, home of the Tigers! HBCU FOOTBALL KICKOFFHBCU football kickoff will be covered by College Football Today & Scout Trout Elite and we cannot be more honored by this opportunity. Our main mission is provided opportunities who need a boast in college football recruitment and at the pro levels. We cannot be more excited for the likes of Jermaine and Shannon, as they have the opportunity to make it to the NFL, as top football recruits at Scout Trout Elite!
MIAMI FLORIDA CFB
In the Miami vs Florida CFB opening match-up on ESPN, we seen how crucial special teams are in close games in College Football Today. It was also a very sad night in the world of American football, as Andrew Luck announced his retirement from the National Football League. As Kirk Herbstreit stated, discipline was needed on both sides of the football and both of these teams need to minimize their mistakes moving forward in the 2019 college football season. Florida was able to dominate up front and get to Jarren Williams, which inevitably was one of the major factors that won the Gators their opening contest. The Florida Gators were able to get to Williams for ten sacks on the night and escape two pass interference calls late in the fourth quarter, which almost brought the Canes back in this epic week 0 college football game.
WEEK 0 FCS FOOTBALL![]()
In week 0 FCS football games, Samford was upended by Youngstown State and had a very poor offensive performance overall. Our 25th ranked Villanova football team however, was able to topple 13th ranked Colgate (FCS Stats Poll) in very dominating fashion. We did not have Colgate football ranked in our top 25 at College Football Today, but this very impressive win was able to move them up four spots, after they received an alarming amount of fan votes. Youngstown State was also very impressive and moved into 25th in our College Football Today FCS Top 25 poll. Check out our FCS Top 25 rankings by clicking the image below.
ARIZONA VS HAWAII
Arizona vs Hawaii is currently on CBS sports network and even though Hawaii has turned the football over a total of six times, they still are leading 35-28. Cole McDonald is putting up epic numbers and Cedric Byrd is back to his devious ways as a slot receiver for the Warriors. He currently has 12 receptions for 190 yards, which tops his week 0 performance last season against Colorado State. More to come after the conclusion of this epic Mountain West vs PAC-12 showdown.
COLE MCDONALD![]()
Coach Rolovich pulled super star QB Cole McDonald, after all of the turnovers and Chevan Cordeiro comes in to throw a beautiful touchdown pass to Biletnikoff watch list member Cedric Byrd! After some more brilliant passes from Khalil Tate, Arizona lines up for a 38 yard field goal and has three penalties in a row. Arizona Wildcats kicker Lucas Havirsik is able to nail a 53 yard field goal, which puts Arizona within 7 points of tying the Hawaii Warriors. After a great stop by the Arizona Wildcats, Khalil Tate takes over with 52 seconds in the football game, down by 7. Khalil Tate and the Arizona offense got the ball all the way down the field on some beautiful throws. He takes off from the 30 yard line and is tackled on the one yard line! Hawaii wins 45-38 in the best game ever in the opening week on college football today.

FLORIDA VS MIAMI
The Florida vs Miami week 0 match-up is quite intriguing to us at College Football Today, as both teams look to solidify themselves for the 2019 season. I believe Coach Manny Diaz has done a wonderful job at surrounding himself with the best assistant coaches in the world of College Football Today, but is that enough to overcome the almighty Florida Gators? The Gators have been building a wrecking machine, as far as what they were able to accomplish last season in not only SEC play, but also the severe beat-down against BIG TEN opponent Michigan. They were able to beat the Wolverines by a score of 41-15 in the peach bowl and Feleipe Franks has emerged as one of the best quarterbacks in the southeastern football conference. You can learn more about this epic in-state rilvary by watching the Scout Trout YouTube video below.
FLORIDA FOOTBALL![]()
Florida football has one of the best teams in all of College Football Today and boasted some significant improvements as the 2018 season went on. The loss to Kentucky in week two really put them behind the eight ball in respects of being an actual contender for the college football playoff, but they were able to beat the almighty LSU Tigers and then ran the table, except for the loss to Georgia. I believe the Gators are the superior team in this SEC vs ACC match-up, if Feleipe Franks can deliver like he did last season. According to Coach McMullen, Franks has improved drastically this off-season, which is quite remarkable after throwing only 6 interceptions in his sophomore campaign, combined with 24 touchdowns. He combines his dual-threat capabilities in a unique way and should have a breakout season in 2019.
MIAMI FOOTBALL![]()
Miami football named Jarren Williams their starting quarterback over highly touted QB Tate Martell and for very good reason, as Williams is arguably one of the best QB's to come our of the talent rich state of Georgia. He simply outworked Martell in every facet needed to excel as the Hurricanes starting QB and was named the starting QB for the 2019 college football season. When watching tape on Williams, he is one of the best athletes at the QB position and excelled at Central Gwinnett high school in the very talent rich state of Georgia.
MIAMI FOOTBALL COACHES![]()
Manny Diaz has hired some big time Miami football coaches heading into the 2019 season. He left the job at Temple to go back home to where his father was the mayor of Miami and brought on two of the best coaches in College Football Today to assist him in his journey. Coach Diaz was able to acquire Todd Stroud, who was a game changer at the University of Akron and is now associate head coach at the U. He also was able to coax Dan Enos over from the University of Alabama, as his offensive coordinator and has a very well-rounded staff heading in the 2019 college football season. Coach Diaz has been the defensive coordinator for the Hurricanes the since 2016 and boasts a quite impressive resume. The fact that he is a big part of the Miami community and culture, should play an integral part in the Miami Hurricanes overall success moving forward.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL RECRUITING
Scout Trout is the leader in college football recruiting and has set the tone for all classes that follow in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and the class of 2024. We are extremely excited about where our current college football recruits are heading and cannot be more pleased with the progress we have made over the past four recruiting classes at College Football Today.
CFB PREVIEW 2019
In our first CFB preview for the 2019 season, we have this Saturday's FCS contest between the Samford Bulldogs and the Youngstown State Penguins. Watch our 2019 FCS preview of this Saturday's FCS football match-ups below.
Kickoff - 3PM @ The Crampton Bowl (Montgomery,Alabama)SAMFORD VS YSU![]()
Samford vs YSU 2019 preview at College Football Today had us pondering what life will be like without super stars Devlin Hodges and Kelvin McKnight. Devlin Hodges is proving daily with the Pittsburgh Steelers on why he was our FCS Football Player of The Year and Kelvin Mcknight is exhibiting his electrifying abilities on the gridiron with the Denver Broncos. This leaves us to question where the offensive production will come from for Samford, but we do know they were able to snag one of the top running backs in the state of Florida in the class of 2019. They bring back an outstanding stable of running backs and will look to start the FCS football season off with a win over the Youngstown State penguins football team.
SAMFORD FOOTBALL
Samford football is known to do an extremely good job in their scouting department and after a 6-5 season, where they almost toppled the Florida State Seminoles, anything is possible. On the contrary, Bo Pelini is an outstanding football coach in his own right and will look to improve on one of the worst seasons in Youngstown State football history. The YSU penguins finished their 2018 campaign going 4-7 and were not the usual juggernaut we have seen in the past in the talent rich football state of Ohio. Read about College Football Today's top running back recruit out of Crestview high school in Florida, who now is suiting up with the Samford Bulldogs, as a true freshmen in 2019 by clicking the picture below.
YSU FOOTBALL![]()
YSU football features another Scout Trout alumni in wide receiver Vinny Fiorenza, who attending his Ohio football camp back in the 2017. Vinny is big time athlete and can make plays all over the field as a converted QB to wide receiver. I am not sure where he is at on the depth chart, but after a miserable 4-7 season, YSU football could be looking for Vinny to step up in his sophomore season a Youngstown State university. Bo Pelini is now only 6 wins shy of 100 career college football victories and this could be the season he achieves this college football coaching milestone, as the leader of YSU football.
Class of 2018 Vinny Fiorenza Ohio Camp Highlight's.FCS FOOTBALL RANKINGS 2019
FCS football rankings for the 2019 season can be found by clicking the picture below at College Football Today. We have Samford at number 21 and Villanova at number 25, who will be facing off against Colgate in the first match-up of the college football season. Kickoff is slated for Saturday at 11:00AM in week zero of the 2019 college football season. Villanova was able to upset Temple last season in their opening game of the 2018 college football season and look to build off of a outstanding 2018 season. Colgate got lucky in not having to face the Furman Paladins early in the season, but had a great year in their own right in finishing 10-2, only to be pummeled by powerhouse FCS program North Dakota State to end their epic run.
