11/28/2020 THE TRUTH BEHIND THE RISE OF NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL & TOP HEISMAN TROPHY CONTENDER IAN BOOKRead NowIAN BOOK HEISMAN
It's beyond me why Ian Book isn't one of the favorites to win the 2020 Heisman Trophy and looking back through my coverage of Notre Dame football, I cant say I am not rooting for him at this point in the season. While trying to be as bi-partisan as possible, I have witnessed Brian Kelly build Notre Dame into not only a National powerhouse, but a resilient team that is prepared for anything that comes it's way. Looking at an article I wrote on Oct 7th, 2018, I realized that Coach Brian Kelly's leadership and ability to adapt week to week, have played a major role in how far the Fighting-Irish have come as a national title contender. Click the image below to read how we predicted on October 7th, 2018 that Notre Dame would earn the 4th seed in the 2018-2019 CFB Playoff and read more below! (Note: We recently said Washington was a better team this year than Oregon, which is still yet to be seen, but Oregon lost the Civil War to Oregon State yesterday)
COACH BRIAN KELLY
Below is an exert on Coach Brian Kelly and the start of the Notre Dame 2018 football season, as well as the prediction they would be the fourth seed in the 2018-2019 CFB Playoff. - Written by Coach Trout on Oct 7th, 2018
"Brian Kelly has brought new and innovative training methods to the Fighting Irish and they have worked magically at winning crucial games that have shot them up all three polls. The first three games of the season were not impressive and Notre Dame looked like a decent team, as they were able to defeat the Michigan Wolverines at home. What was concerning was after the big win in South Bend, they nearly lost to (2-4) Ball State by a score of 24-16. Given both teams are in Indiana, you could consider this an in-state rivalry, so they remain a Top 25 team. At home, against Vanderbilt, The Fighting Irish were able to defeat their SEC opponent by a score of 22-17. Vanderbilt is a good team this season, but a below average to average SEC team, as they were pummeled by South Carolina by a score of 37-14 in Nashville,TN. Consensus Top 3 team the Georgia Bulldogs, were able to defeat Vanderbilt 41-13 as the Bulldogs offense begins to assert their dominance in SEC play. They were able to defeat (3-3) Wake Forest handily in Winston Salem, NC by a score of 56-27 and you started to see the framework for the 2018-2019 Fighting Irish start to form. It was then, the Irish came up against the mighty Stanford Cardinals, who are year in and year out one of the toughest opponents the Irish face. They were able to defeat genius David Shaw and shatter Bryce Love's hopes for early Heisman contention. Normally, I am not into over analyzing things, as second guessing is for people who are unsure of the situation, but I looked at the remaining games for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the odds are in their favor of winning throughout the rest of the season. I had them picked to win over Virginia Tech and knowing how the system is set up, I presented my case to several older football minds and they said I was right. Let's look at the remaining schedule for Notre Dame and why they should ultimately be in the CFB playoffs at the conclusion of the college football rankings."
NOTRE DAME CFB PLAYOFFS
I was 100% right about Notre Dame getting in the 2018-2019 CFB Playoffs, but unfortunately, all good things must to come an end at some point in time. Looking back through the 2019 NFL Draft Class, I realized Clemson's defensive line was probably the greatest we have ever seen from one team in a NFL Draft. Christian Wilkins, Clelin Ferrell and Dexter Lawrence were all taken in the top 17 picks in the 1st round of the 2019 Draft and even more of Coach Venables national title defenders were taken in the 2020 NFL Draft (Graphic above). Notre Dame got manhandled up front against Clemson in the 2018-2019 CFB Semifinal and ever since, Coach Kelly and the Fighting-Irish have adapted to being a team that was able to avenge that embarrassing loss on national TV and beat Clemson in their first match-up of the 2020 season. The rematch could be probable, but Clemson has two tough opponents left on the schedule in Pitt and Virginia Tech, while Notre Dame has Syracuse and Wake Forest remaining. Syracuse is currently have a rough year with a 1-8 record, but gave the likes of Clemson fits for three quarters and were close to pulling a major upset. Wake Forest is also a very talented football team, but the Fighting-Irish have the most favorable schedule to remain undefeated. Clemson should remain undefeated and it is highly likely that we will see yet another Notre Dame verses Clemson slug fest in the ACC Championship game. I felt like the game against North Carolina yesterday could have been somewhat of a"trap" game on their schedule, but Notre Dame is playing very tough and instinctual on both sides of the football. It is very ironic that over two years later, Notre Dame would join the ACC and have a chance to avenge the CFB Playoff slaughtering with a ACC Championship, as well as a top seed in the 2020-2021 CFB Playoff. In having watched Notre Dame in all of their big games this season, Ian Book doesn't have eye-popping numbers because of the brilliant ball control style of football they are trying to play and Book is able to piece together sustaining drives that keep the Irish defenders well rested for the next series. This style of play also typically wears down a defense, which happens to be one of the reasons we see Notre Dame dominating opponents in the 4th quarter. Ian has only thrown one interception on the season and now has well over 2,000 yards of total offense, as well ass 17 total TD's and only 1 interception. He is the epitome of how you should play quarterback in a balanced offensive attack and when there are no options downfield, he will keenly throw the football away or scramble his way through traffic for a first down. Read more under the downright shameful 2020 Heisman Odds released by Vegas last week.
2020 HEISMAN WATCH
Notre Dame QB Ian Book isn't just on our 2020 Heisman watch list, he is considered to be a top three contender at this point of the 2020 college football season and the fact that he isn't even listed on the Vegas Odds is flat out ludicrous. He has led Notre Dame to a 9-0 record and when I search for his name, let's just say, the dude is pretty popular in the world of College Football Today. I guess they are banking on a loss for Notre Dame in the ACC Championship, which is yet to be seen. If Fighting-Irish are able to keep playing mistake free football and executing brilliant clock management by consistently moving the chains, I wouldn't bet against them. Notre Dame's defense has been consistent all season long in producing turnovers and are able to set the Irish offense up for success with prime field position. The Irish are able to respond quickly when things go awry and Ian Book is doing a fantastic job at orchestrating the offensive game-plan, while not giving up negative plays and has the gritty as well witty style of play to be a high caliber NFL quarterback. 2021 NFL DRAFT WR RANKINGS![]()
College Football Today and ESPN Plus 2021 NFL Draft WR rankings have been released and it happens to be a very diverse group of top 2021 NFL Draft WR prospects. We had already deemed Oklahoma State receiver Tylan Wallace 1st round talent as only a Sophomore and thought he should have declared for the Draft the past couple of seasons. I normally do not defer much from my initial projections when it comes the NFL prospect rankings and Tylan hasn't really given me a reason to. After torching Big 12 defenses for 1491 yards rushing and 13 touchdowns, teams began to shift their attention to arguably the fastest receiver in the 2021 wide receiver draft class and this led to Chuba Hubbard more space to operate. But it's not just his speed that makes him a big time NFL Draft WR prospect, but rather his ability to produce yards after the catch. Wallace also has outstanding bounce when high pointing the football over top of defenders and proves to have the impeccable concentration needed to make receptions in heavy traffic. There are many top receivers in the 2021 NFL Draft class and many jump through the roof, but how quickly you get off the ground is what I refer to as bounce and Wallace has significant bounce in his offensive skill-set. Throughout the span of four years, Tylan has hauled in 185 passes and has proven to have the explosive characteristics of a Stefon Diggs, while averaging over 17.1 yards per reception. From observing Wallace the last three years, he also is a very unselfish player and has been a very reliable blocker out on the edge. But what has top NFL executives fired up is Tylan's ability to take the football the distance any time he gets the football in his grasps. There isn't one thing about Wallace's four year body of work that doesn't state he is certainly first round NFL Draft talent. Given this year's 2021 NFL Draft class is loaded with top tier WR prospects, Tylan could slip into the late second round and be a significant offensive weapon for an NFL Franchise. From doing my due scouting diligence since his breakout Soph season, I probably wouldn't be able to pass him up in this year's 2021 NFL Draft. Find out where Wallace ranked in the College Football Today & ESPN+ 2021 Top 60 NFL Draft WR prospects on our RokFin channel!
2021 TOP NFL DRAFT RECEIVERS![]()
This group of sixty 2021 top NFL draft receivers had very high draft grades compared to year's prior, which is quite frightening for NFL defenses when we got to witness 37 receivers drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft. When comparing my 2021 NFL Draft receiver rankings to every other rankings available online, I realized that not many are adept at evaluating passed the uniform the prospect is wearing. Just because a guy is the best receiver on the best team, doesn't always mean he is the best receiver available for the National Football League. Stats can also be misleading for prospects that play in a run oriented offensive scheme or if the receiver prospect has felt the excruciating pain of having highly erratic quarterback play. Which brings me to my next two prospects, who I believe are going overlooked by the general populous, but not by top NFL executives and Coach Trout. Featured above & below is Jonathan Adams Jr from Arkansas State, who has the same high-pointing and acrobatic characteristics of NFL Hall of Fame receiver Randy Moss. Given that he doesn't have a marksman like former Marshall QB Chad Pennington hurling him air mail consistently, Adams Jr is still approaching 1,000 yards for the season and has 10 touchdown receptions. The Red Wolves still have three games remaining on the 2020 schedule, but Adams Jr was able to jump onto the radar of many top NFL executives, after his epic 3 touchdown performance in the Red Wolves upset over Big 12 opponent Kansas State. His epic performance in Manhattan, Kansas can be found on slide number two of the College Football Today Top 2021 NFL Draft WR rankings page and as you will see in Adams Jr's junior season highlight's below, he has been getting it out the mud for quite sometime now. Check out the Lil' Baby "out the mud" Jonathan Adams Jr remix and read more below!
TOP 2021 NFL DRAFT WR'S![]()
When referencing to the partial top 2021 NFL draft WR's rating formula above, Adams Jr has proven to have top echelon body control (BC) and is able to quickly adjust to poorly or under thrown footballs. The Red Wolves primary target uses his 6'3,225 pound frame brilliantly to go over the top and/or box out defenders, to create space for him to make the reception. His overall catch radius is excellent, but his overall ability to track the flight of the football and bounce quickly off the turf, makes him virtually unstoppable when the football is delivered in the proper location. The vertical leap is of somewhat importance, but Denver Broncos first round draft pick Jerry Jeudy is also a synaptic-ally charged athlete and only bounced 35.5" while testing the vertical leap. The main thing that separates good outside receivers from great jump ball receivers is the ability to locate the football before the defensive backs, while quickly positioning your body in accordance with the flight of the football and using "soft hands" to catch the ball at it's highest point. Adams Jr is arguably one the most significant deep threats in this year's very talented 2021 NFL Draft receiving class and his ability to create separation can be visibly seen in his route running progressions. I expect Adams Jr to perform very well at the NFL Combine and his stock to continue to rise as top NFL executives start to see a receiving prospect that inevitably has Pro Bowl potential in any offensive scheme. Find out where Top 2021 NFL Draft WR prospect Jonathan Adams Jr ranked in the College Football Today & ESPN Plus 2021 Top 60 WR prospect rankings on our RokFin channel!
TOP 2021 NFL WR PROSPECTS
Top 2021 NFL WR prospects range from 5'9" to 6'6" tall and I am finding that the exuberant and extremely athletic style of play that prospects like Jaelon Darden possess, are exactly what I personally would be playing at the slot or wing back position in my offensive attack. Much likeTavon Austin, you can also line players like Darden up in the backfield and execute some of the best misdirection plays, as defenders are unable to calculate proper pursuit angles. As you will see on the first play in the footage below, Darden has the ability to cut and change direction in a flash and could possess the best overall agility in the 2021 NFL Draft receiver class. The Mean Green offensive coaching staff uses his diverse athletic skill-set brilliantly and sets up one of the best overall athletes in the nation for instant success, by using him in motion to create mismatches in open space. These scenarios often present themselves in the chess matches we have seen take place in the NFL and Jaelon is a significant problem for any defender in one on one coverage. He proves to also have the top end speed to pull away from PAC-12 defenders and is able to create instant separation with his wicked acceleration, as well as his deceptive start and stop route running progressions. When operating in the short passing game, Darden is the quickest at shifting into high gear after the catch and his extreme wiggle is able to throw defenders off balance, as he could very well be the most the explosive 2021 NFL Draft WR prospect in this year's Draft class. Darden's body control and field awareness when catching the football near the sideline, as well as proper hand placement and coordination also grades out as a top tier WR prospect. His magnificent overall football skill as a ball carrier will make him a prime candidate in the return game and we could very well see Darden being drafted ahead of some of the more well known receivers in the 2021 NFL Draft. Find out where Top 2021 NFL Draft WR prospect Jaelen Darden's round projection, rankings and more on the College Football Today 2021 Top 60 WR prospect rankings on RokFin! Fact: Our 2020 NFL Mock Draft was the only NFL Mock Draft that had both TCU Horned Frogs being selected in the 1st round in the Eagles Jalen Raegor and the Vikings Jeff Gladney. Due to having an All-American Bowl game in 2020, I didn't have near the time I do this year as the Bowl game had to be rescheduled for the Spring for various reasons that benefit the players in 2021 & 2022. TOP 2021 WIDE RECEIVERS
Many top 2021 wide receivers are still available due to the NCAA passing a bill allowing an extra year of eligibility. This has left many college recruiters with their hands tied at the moment, as many will not know who is and who isn't coming back until the season ends. This will create a massive wave of offers, which normally always happens from January and into March. This will allow college athletic departments to know how many scholarships they have available and what positions will need to be filled. If you are college recruiter or coach, I suggest checking out the2021 Top 1000 and the Scout Trout Elite Top 2021 WR recruit database for many that can light up the scoreboard like the three 2021 NFL Draft WR prospects mentioned above! CFB PLAYOFF FORMULA
I was searching the internet for a CFB Playoff formula and I found that the 8 team bracket of the future we released a few years back was extremely popular among most college football fans. You can find the new CFB Playoff formula's new Turkey Day page by clicking HERE or the highly opinionated turkey carrying a football with that smug look on his face below.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL TODAY
So there was two college football games today, but the Colorado State vs Air Force Battle for the Ram-Falcon trophy was cancelled. The only Thanksgiving college football game will be tonight when New Mexico takes on Utah State. There are two NFL games on today and the Steelers vs Ravens Thanksgiving clash got moved to Sunday. So you will have to pick between the 3-7 Texans going up against the 4-6 Lions or the both 3-7 Redskins going up against the 3-7 Cowboys. Looking at what's on the Thanksgiving plate for football today, I would rather work on this up & coming NFL Draft and recruiting as 2020 hasn't been the luckiest of years so far. But that surely doesn't mean Thanksgiving weekend isn't chalk full of exciting games with major CFB Playoff and bowl game implications.
The Day After Thanksgiving Football![]()
The day will start with two Top 25 opponents looking to make a statement to move up into CFB Playoff race, as well stay in contention for a Big 12 Championship game bid. This Big 12 conference football clash will feature many top rated 2021 NFL Draft prospects, who have been rising up NFL teams Draft boards since they began play this season. There has been a clamoring from the Iowa State faithful to add Breece Hall to the 2020 Heisman Trophy Watch-List and the Turkey on the Heisman page ,who happens to be an avid Cyclones fan exudes the same confidence in his argument. After watching many of Hall's highlight's and examining his overall body of work at Iowa State, Breece was also added to the 2021 NFL Draft RB rankings and graded out extremely high for this year's 2021 NFL Draft. There have been five new running backs added to the 2021 NFL Draft "risers" slide-show that were extremely impressive in all facets of the Top 2021 NFL Draft RB rankings formula. Check them out below and on the 2021 NFL Draft Top RB rankings page.
TOP 2021 NFL DRAFT QB PROSPECT SAM EHLINGER
Top 2021 NFL Draft QB prospect Sam Ehlinger has been extremely impressive throughout his four year career as a Texas Longhorn and he looks to solidify himself as a potential pick in the first three rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft. Sam was able to win the College Football Today QB of The Year Award after the 2018-2019 season and has been able to will Texas to a what looked to be an improbable 6 & 2 record. Sam's leadership and ability to create offense on his own, has many top NFL executives extremely intrigued by what he brings to the table at the next level. CFB RIVALRY GAMES![]()
There are many CFB rivalry games this weekend to keep us entertained after the major turkey day let down and it starts off with the battle between Nebraska and Iowa for the Heroes Trophy. The Hawkeyes currently lead the series with a 6 & 3 record and this will be the 51st meeting between the two conference foes, which the Huskers hold a 29-18-3 overall record in. But as we all know, this just isn't the same Huskers of old and Kirk Ferentz and the Hawkeyes are looking to move to 4 and 2, as well as rank even higher in next week's CFB Playoff week two rankings. If the Hawkeyes are able decimate the Husker faithful and have them start the season 1-4, they will certainly be in the discussion for the College Football Today Top 25 and will move to 4-2 on the season in Big 10 football play.
THE WAR ON I-4![]()
The War on I-4 is actually about every sport in both South Florida and Central Florida's athletic program and they use a unique formula to come up with who wins the War on I-4. But we are here to talk about football and currently South Florida surprisingly holds a 6-5 record since the inception of this fairly new rivalry match-up. Dylan Gabriel and rising 2021 NFL Draft RB Prospect Greg McCrae have been nothing short of exceptional throughout their historic careers with the Knights and are looking to even the series at Raymond James Stadium at 3:30pm EST. The Knights are looking to finish off yet another winning season and move to 6-3, as the Bulls of South Florida look to pull off the major upset for only their 2nd win of the 2020 college football season.
CFB PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS![]()
A game with major CFB Playoff implications will be kicking off at 3:30pm EST and the Tar Heels will look to take down the mighty Notre Dame Fighting-Irish. Top 2021 NFL Draft QB prospect and Heisman Trophy contender Ian Book will need to lead the Notre Dame offensive to a significant amount of points, because the Tar-Heels have NFL Draft talent all over the offensive side of the football. Not to mention, they have our number two overall rated 2019 QB prospect Sam Howell leading the Carolina offensive charge. Howell's creativeness and ability to throw off balance while under duress will be needed and ball security should be of the utmost importance against a stingy Fighting-Irish defense. The Fighting-Irish are looking to remain unbeaten, after temporarily dethroning the mighty tigers of Clemson in Death Valley and stroll into the CFB Playoff with confidence. The tandem of Michael Carter and Javonte Williams has been unstoppable all season long in ACC play and both top 2021 NFL Draft RB prospects have been steadily been climbing the College Football Today & ESPN Plus top 2021 RB prospect rankings all 2020 season. They both compliment each other extremely well and bring a sort of thunder & lighting dynamics that is hard to account for when you have a potential 1st round NFL Draft QB selection in Sam Howell, surgically removing the internal organs of secondaries with his scalpel like precision. There are two Top 2021 NFL Draft WR prospects we all should also be keeping a close watch on in Dazz Newsome and Dyami Brown, as both project well as next level talent. This should be another ACC thriller to watch and once again, we can be thankful for the day after Thanksgiving football extravaganza.
BIG GAME
The Rivalry match-up on the west coast dubbed the "Big Game", features a contest that was first played in 1892 between the California Bears and Stanford Cardinals. This will be the 123rd game of this historic rivalry and Stanford currently holds the edge with a 59-44-10 record, but the Cal Bears were able to win last year in a closely contested "Big Game" by a score of 24 to 20. Both teams are looking to spark their slow starts to the 2020 PAC-12 season and give their program momentum to build off to finish the PAC-12 season strong. The "Big Game" kicks off at 4:30 EST on FOX and I expect the 123rd match-up to be a huge game for whoever is able to reign supreme in the "Big Game".
The Civil War
The Civil War arguably almost happened again in 2020 during the U.S Presidential Election process according to numerous media sources, but they underestimated the overall intelligence of the citizens in the United States of America. But this other Civil War that is taking place features a slew of future big time players will be drafted highly in the 2021 NFL Draft. This is also an age old Rivalry that dates back to 1894, with the Ducks of Oregon leading the series with a record 65-47-10. To think that a Beaver and Duck actually tied ten times is quite befuddling in itself, but Oregon needs to make an impressive statement the remainder of the season with a very limited 6 game PAC-12 schedule. If they are to win "The Civil War" in Corvallis, they will finish the season on the road against a currently win-less Cal team and get to face off against the CFB Today Top 25 Washington Huskies in Eugene, Oregon. This is a very favorable schedule for the Oregon Ducks football team and with the amount of talent they possess for this up and coming 2021 NFL Draft, they could most certainly see themselves in contention by running the table and bringing home a PAC-12 football championship.
CFB PLAYOFF RANKINGS![]()
The only game on Saturday featuring two teams in the CFB Playoff rankings is the 2020 Iron Bowl, which will kick off at 3:30pm EST on CBS! This will bring the College Football Today Thanksgiving weekend extravaganza to an end, but we have been very confident that the Crimson-Tide are the number one college football team in the nation since their thrashing of the Georgia Dawgs on 10/17/2020. Coach Saban and his magnificent coaching staff were able to quickly reignite the defense, after letting up an embarrassing 48 point to Coach Lane Kiffin and the Rebels offense. The Crimson-Tide currently have the College Football Today & ESPN Plus Heisman Front runner in Top 2021 NFL Draft QB prospect Mac Jones and have the best offensive weapons as a whole in the 2021 NFL Draft class. Top 2021 RB prospect Najee Harris is also still in contention for the 2020 Heisman Trophy and Devonta Smith could be the best 2021 NFL Draft WR prospect in this year's 2021 NFL Draft. Even Bama's back-up running back Brian Robinson Jr is being talked about in NFL Front Offices about his overall potential to be an every down back in the National Football League. But, ever since Auburn's embarrassing loss to a 2-6 Gamecock's team, they have beaten three very formidable SEC foes in Ole Miss, LSU and Tennessee. They are riding a 3 game winning streak and are looking to upset what appears to be yet another Alabama National Championship team. The forces that be are attempting to give them every advantage, as Nick Saban has tested positive for Covid-19 a second time this season before one of the biggest games of the Crimson-Tide's National Championship run. Many consider this game the most important rivalry in the annuals of American sports, but for us it's another SEC clash of titans and it's nostalgia has produced some of the most epic games in modern day American football.

TOP 2021 NFL DRAFT QB PROSPECT![]()
If you run a spread-style offensive attack and want a guy who you can build a dynamic offense around, I still believe King is that high octane quarterback that your offense needs to fuel your offensive production in the NFL. He had one off game against Clemson during rainy and wet conditions,, as Coach Venables did another terrific job at bottling up a highly talented dual-threat QB, but King throws one of the most accurate and most catch-able football's in all of College Football Today. He has helped bring the Canes offense back to life after a dreadful 2019 season and has now thrown for over 2,000 yards against a wide array of competition in two conferences. King has also added over 400 yards on the ground and 20 total touchdowns on the season, as he has an innate ability to escape when in tight quarters and make plays with his legs. King has maintained a 153.3 QB rating throughout his four years of collegiate play and unless it is a designed QB run, looks to work through his progressions while avoiding pressure and find the open receiver down the field. King also is able to hurl the long ball with impeccable ball location and his receivers are seen rarely breaking stride. He also uses great torso whip to generate power on his throws and has a very quick release in the short to intermediate passing game, while demonstrating the ability to throw his receiver open to spot on comebacks and deep out routes. He honestly could be the Lamar Jackson in this year's NFL Draft that mostly everyone is overlooking, except top NFL executives and College Football Today.

2021 NFL QB PROSPECT RANKINGS
2021 NFL QB Prospect Sam Ehlinger College Football Today rankings report. Written 11/21/2020 via RokFin
Sam Ehlinger- In all fairness to Sam, he hasn't had much help from the offensive line and inadvertent turnovers that had nothing to do with him in 2020. Sam has played some of the best football I have seen this season and kept the Longhorns in contention in BIG 12 football play. He has had an epic four year run as the Texas starting QB and plays with the heart of a lion, as one of the most competitive overall football players in the nation. Sam has the ability to take over a game with his athletics and the powerful Tim Tebow like power running style. Ehlinger also has a very fluent throwing motion and is able to get the ball to his play-makers using a multitude of arm angles, while under constant duress. He is adept at feeling pressure and stepping up or vacating the pocket to create passing lanes when all seemed to be lost. For his large 6'3,225 pound stature, Sam's athletics are remarkable and we will get to evaluate him first hand at the 2021 NFL Reese's Senior Bowl, which will be a true test to see where Sam stacks up against the nation's best 2021 NFL Draft quarterbacks. The Longhorns are off this week, but face a highly talented Top 25 Iowa State this week and look to improve their winning steak to four games straight, as well as stay in the conversation for the Big 12 Championship.
2021 NFL DRAFT QB PROSPECT
2021 NFL Draft QB Prospect Dustin Crum Scout Trout scouting notes
Written 11/21/2020 via RokFin
The Kent State QB could arguably have the strongest arm in this year's 2021 NFL Draft and has recently popped onto the radar of many top NFL executives. Through only three games, Crum has completed 61 out of 81 passing attempts and thrown 838 yards, while tossing 9 TD's and only one interception. Dustin has shown dual-threat capabilities and also has added three touchdowns on the ground for the Golden Flashes offense. But what is most impressive about Crum, is the rate of speed that his football zips from point A to point B when threading the needle of zone coverage. When throwing darts up the seam, he allows no time for the safeties to break out of cover two zone and can visibly be seen making the defense shift out of position by looking them off, only to come back his intended target. I know the Patriots are always finding diamonds in the rough late in the NFL Draft and are masters at trading top picks away, only to wind up getting the best players in the NFL Draft down the road. We will see how Dustin's finishes out the season, but right now, I believe he has elite arm talent for NFL front offices to fight over in the late second to mid third round.
JAMIE NEWMAN NFL DRAFT
Wake Forest QB Jamie Newman NFL Draft prospect Scout Trout scouting notes. Writen 11/21/2020 via RokFin
![]()
I would have loved to see the Newman to George Pickens connection this year, but 2021 NFL Draft & Senior Bowl QB Jamie Newman decided to roll the dice that he will be selected highly in the NFL Draft. Jamie was extremely impressive last season for the Demon Deacons and has one of the most beautiful touch passes, as well as deep balls in this year's 2021 NFL Draft QB class. He also possesses the athletics of a younger Cam Newton, but is a much more refined passer coming out of college. I believe with a solid 2021 Senior Bowl performance and a blistering 40 time in the 2021 NFL combine, we could potentially see Newman taken in the late 1st or early 2nd round in the NFL Draft. Jamie does a great job at looking off his first read and quickly coming back to the other side of the playing field to deliver the football with uncanny precision. He is another guy on this list that gives his receivers a chance to make a play on the football at it's highest point and is among the best at creating offense with his powerful downhill style of running.

2021 NFL DRAFT PROSPECTS
2021 NFL Draft Prospects have been compiled for the first round of NFL Draft prospect rankings on RokFin. I am not going to publicly humiliate college athletes while they still are in season, I don't believe that it is productive for them in their pursuit in being drafted into the National Football League. So I am only sharing the nice things I had to say about them, but will be posted weaknesses that need addressed on CollegeFootball Today RokFin.
TOP 2021 NFL RB PROSPECTS![]()
College Football Today and ESPN+ top 2021 NFL RB prospects are quite a diverse group of top tier running backs, who can fit into a multitude of offensive schemes in the National Football League. Many highly touted running backs in this year's 2021 NFL Draft have seen their stock plummet due to a lack of production on the field and many opted out of the 2020 season. I honestly understand why running backs like 5'11,215 pound Journey Brown decided not to take the field this season, as he will certainly impress NFL scouts and executives at the 2021 NFL Combine with a blistering 40 time. Having watched this entire list of Top 2021 NFL Draft RB prospects live this year, I got to see many glaring issues with ball security and lack of wiggle/burst (WB), as well as poor ball carrier vision. Many of the larger backs will run full steam ahead without allowing their blockers enough time to get to their assignments, which 99% of the time ends up being a negative play or the said RB is halted by a wall of defensive linemen at the line of scrimmage. This was not the case when evaluating Alabama running back Najee Harris, whose initial scouting report can be found below.

Najee Harris - The best overall athlete at 6'2,230 pounds that we have seen in the backfield entering the 2021 NFL Draft. Harris has really impressed me with his overall versatility this season and the last two seasons he has been a significant threat as a receiving target. I have seen him high point the football over the top of smaller defenders and make plays that men his size are not normally accustom to making. Harris does a wonderful job at showing patience when identifying the proper running lanes and sets up his blockers before bursting downhill through the heart of the defense. He does not cease his feet from motoring upon first contact and keeps excellent leg drive, while often taking defenders for a ride on the Harris train for extra yardage. Najee can be brought completely to halt as soon as he gets the football in his grasps, but keenly uses the spin move and his powerful frame to escape, while turning a would be negative play into positive production for the offense. I love the tenacity he shows when using his stiff arm to punish would be tacklers and he is the type of bruising back that can significantly wear down a defense over the length of four quarters. The Bama back is also very impressive while shifting his way through the second level of the defense and uses a repertoire of power and finesse moves to make linebackers miss. Harris is the type of back you have to set your entire defensive game-plan around and more often than not, it takes at least 2 to 3 defenders to bring him to the ground. Harris is 100% going to be an NFL Franchise Running back and has the durability to go for over a 100 yards a game for the duration of an entire NFL 16 game season.

I am almost finished with the 2021 top NFL RB prospects and ranking them based off the College Football Today & ESPN Plus NFL Draft RB ratings formula, which has helped NFL executives identify who truly is the best pick for their Franchise in the last three NFL Drafts. My philosophy as a coach when approaching the NFL Draft would be to go with the best football player and overall athlete available, as I would cater my offensive and defensive schemes around their diverse and explosive skill-sets. More often than that, we will be able to either outflank our opponents with exhilarating speed or ram the football down the oppositions throat, as we establish the play-action pass by making the second and third level of the defense creep up towards the LOS for run support. If you have the luxury of being able to play power football and can quickly flip into a spread or air raid attack, you can keep the defense off-balance for four quarters and exploit their weaknesses by creating mismatches that were identified through film study the week prior. In totality, the game has gotten much quicker and having backs that can line up in the backfield, slot or wide receiver can help create a dilemma for opposing defenses that leaves gaping holes for the offense to exploit. I expect generational talents like Bama back Najee Harris, who can wear down a defense and keep another team's high octane offense off the field to go in the 1st RD. If you think about it numbers wise, all you really need is 3 yards every play and you control the clock, as well as keep your starting defense fresh for the duration of the game. The New England Patriots actually used this strategy against the best DT in the NFL Aaron Donald in their Super victory over the LA Rams. They didn't have any backs near the caliber of Harris, but were able to wear the Rams down up front and completely neutralize Donald's pass rush. Which brings me to one of the most exciting multi-dimensional backs in this year's 2021 NFL Draft RB class, the Louisianimal and star Jayhawk Pooka Williams Jr!
