NFL COMBINE 2019
While observing the 2019 NFL combine on NFL Network, I watched some 2019 NFL Draft prospects really increase their draft stock with their overall performances under the national spotlight. We will be analyzing today's top NFL Combine performances by the 2019 OL and 2019 RB NFL draft prospects below, as well as checking to see if their on the field play checks out as 2019 NFL Draft prospects moving forward on our 2019 NFL Mock Draft's at College Football Today. We will be introducing our other 2019 Mock Draft members like Coach Cruz, who is formulating his own 2019 NFL Mock Draft as College Football Today's newly appointed President.
MOST REPS AT NFL COMBINE
Iosua Opeta (Weber St) produced the most reps at the NFL combine with 39 repetitions on the 225 bench press testing. Surprisingly, second place at the 2019 NFL combine went to running back Alex Barnes out Kansas State, who was able to put up 34 reps on the 225LB bench press testing. Barnes is a (RS) Junior that had a very productive career as a Kansas State wildcat and his senior year amassed 1,355 yards rushing. Kansas State did not have the best team overall this past season with a overall record of 5-7, so this young man could be a diamond in the rough "workhorse" running back heading into the 2019 NFL Draft. Alex Barnes accounted for 12 touchdowns, while Kansas State has only 20 touchdowns on the 2018 college football season. I expect Barnes to jump from a projected priority free agent, to being selected in the 2019 NFL Draft, as he also had a very solid combine overall.
NFL COMBINE 2019 STATS
NFL combine 2019 stats can be found below, along with whether or not it should be of any concern for NFL teams moving forward. I always use to hear Jerry Rice ran a 4.6,40 yard dash so I never put much stock in these numbers until I realized that these tests can be used to test things like attention to detail. Mostly all of the skill players invited are very quick, fast and explosive on tape, but when it comes to performing in the NFL combine, attention to detail is extraordinarily important in the NFL Draft prospects performance overall. When you think it about the 40 yard dash testing logically, as snap of the fingers is a tenth of second. So each athletes start on the 40 yard dash is imperative to their finish. Which in simplistic terms, this not only helps gauge a NFL draft prospects speed from point A to point B, but also to test their coach ability, as well as adaptability in this process.
NFL COMBINE 40 YARD DASH
The NFL combine 40 yard dash top performers can be found below, along with some times that honestly shocked us when you flip of the game tape of that NFL draft prospect.
