4/2/2019 Texas Tech Head Basketball Coach, Bobby Knight & New Top 2020 Football Recruits at College Football TodayRead NowTEXAS TECH HEAD BASKETBALL COACH![]()
Texas Tech head basketball coach Chris Beard spent 10 seasons as a assistant coach under one of my favorite head coaches in all of college sports Bobby Knight. Did Mr.Knight have much controversy off the court? Kind of, but in all due respect, he prepared his team to win and did a fine job at just that, winning. NCAA basketball and NCAA football have a lot in common, but we will get to that part later, as we celebrate Texas Tech basketball and the legendary NCAA basketball coach Bobby Knight.
COACH BOBBY KNIGHT![]()
I always said Coach Bobby Knight should have been coaching football instead of basketball when I watched how intense he was court side. From the infamous toss of the chair at the official or some of his outlandish encounters with the media, Coach Bobby Knight's passion for the game of basketball and his players was second to none. His dedication to preparing his players was what he cared about first and foremost, as seen in some of his famous quotes found below.
"The key is not the will to win... everybody has that. It is the will to prepare to win that is important." "The will to succeed is important, but what's more important is the will to prepare." "Most people have the will to win, few have the will to prepare to win." COACH CHRIS BEARD![]()
Coach Chris Beard now has a 171-60 record as a NCAA head basketball coach and cited that his years as an assistant coach at Texas Tech University for 10 years under Bob Knight and Pat Knight among the reasons that he took the job at Texas Tech University. When I found this exert, I realized that Coach Bobby Knight's hands are all over the Red Raiders basketball program and Coach Knight could arguably be why they have shown tremendous grit in overcoming adversity time and time again to reach the NCAA Final Four. Coach Chris Beard obviously is instilling the same core values that Coach Knight did in his ball clubs at the University of Indiana that made him the 9th winning-est Coach in NCAA history and with our recent stop at Texas Tech University, we will be cheering for the Red Raiders in the 2019 Final Four. TTU FOOTBALL 2019
We stopped by TTU football for our 2019 College Football Today preview and realized that they swapped out two of our favorite and most disciplined coaches in all of NCAA football. Coach Matt Wells takes over for newly appointed Arizona Cardinals Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury and looks to improve on a .500 record in the Big 12 the year prior. Kliff on the other hand, will most likely be drafting Kyler Murray as the number one overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and seeing what he can acquire for Josh Rosen, as at this point, a few McDouble's would suffice.
