Husker Football Game
I know the academic world very well these days and I can tell you this, football, religion and the current state of culture in the United States of America is the main topic of discussion. Each college institution will have their own set of core values, belief system and standards that they will want their students to also replicate if they are to be on scholarship. Why is this? Because football is the fuel for the University to grow economically in a pretty unique and fun way for individuals of an area to gather and cheer on let's say, their beloved Cornhuskers. In America today, most individuals are glued to the device of their choosing, which in turn, makes it easy to captivate them with falsehoods from celebrities about almost any topic of discussion. We also must remember it is not our job to identify what is sin and what isn't a sin. When Coach Jim Harbaugh's son came out, this was celebrated as an outstanding step forward in well, letting people be people. The Bible also states in Jeremiah 17:9 that the human heart is deceitfully wicked and beyond cure. Who can understand it? - "Do not judge others or you too will be judged". Whether you believe this is a sin or not, it does not matter Biblically speaking, because the Bible clearly states that sin is equal across the board and we all are guilty of it. Instead of ridiculing others and casting judgement, the Bible teaches us to "encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing". Many verses are taken out of context to make one group feel a certain way or that they are not loved by their creator. Psalm 86:15 "But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness."
Numbers 32:23 - But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out.
People will tend to shy away from the Old Testament and if they do, then they are gonna miss key points in the BIBLE that are made about the climate we live in today. It is our job as true believers in God, to show people the path to greatness that is not defined by how well we play on the football field, but defined by how diligent we are in building up others in the way we were taught. Most of these principles I have learned will get you much farther in the long run, rather being a lie, cheat or stabbing others in the back to get ahead.
As you read the Word, remember the commandment of Jesus, reiterated by James, to be doers and not merely hearers of the Word (Matthew 7:24–27; James 1:22–25).
"As you read the Word, remember the commandment of Jesus, reiterated by James, to be doers and not merely hearers of the Word" (Matthew 7:24–27; James 1:22–25).
"Seldom does anyone wander into obedience. Often we must take time to not only digest what we have read, but to plan for how we can practically apply and obey God’s will."
Why will the Sun continue to rise in Nebraska?
Well, because it must rise for the people of this great state and to show the world how one can overcome adversity by simply doing the right thing. Not many today are practicing what they preach and they look for quick, unethical and sometimes ungodly solutions that makes the man upstairs eventually wreak havoc on lives and eventually your beloved college football team. As I see many top tier competitors in the Class Of 2019 tweeting about "it being more than football", I tell you this, you have the right mind-set to achieve greater things in this world then chasing a ball around. Use this mechanism that God gave us to learn about each other before casting judgement and do not believe everything you read or hear in today's media environment. You might one day, get some really powerful people praying against you, for the good of the United States of America.
The Nebraska Prayer
Dear Lord, the battles we go through life,
We ask for a chance that's fair,
A chance to equal our stride,
A chance to do or dare,
If we should win, let it be by the code,
Faith and Honor held high,
If we should lose, we'll stand by the road,
And cheer as the winners go by.
Day by Day, we get better and better!
The team that can't be beat, WON'T BE BEAT!
Matthew 7 verse below video
1“Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?
5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
