2022 TOP DEFENSIVE TACKLE RECRUITS
2022 top defensive tackle recruits shouldn't always be about behemoth size, but rather the ability to penetrate into the opponents backfield as quickly as possible. In some cases, gap assignments call for DT's and especially NG's, to hold their ground in a specific gap to clog up the run or occupy the interior linemen to create unblocked LB's. Players like former 3-Star recruit Aaron Donald are the rapid firing DT's that are able to live in the opponents backfield and have a high octane motor. According to Rivals in 2010, Aaron was the 14th best DT in the State of Pennsylvania and 37th in the Nation. Donald possibly held four offers, but he only needed one from the University of Pittsburgh to become the best defensive tackle in the National Football League.
