How are top 2022 safeties rated at College Football Today?
(MC) + (ZC) + (RR) + (RS) + (PI) + (CI) + (V) = (S)
- Man Coverage (MC) - Top 2022 safeties ability to play man to man coverage on WR's, TE's, H-Backs & RB's.
- Zone Coverage (ZC) - Top 2022 safeties ability to play over the top of the defense in all all zone coverage schemes.
- Rover Robber (RR) - Top 2022 safeties ability to play as a rover or robber back, refer to 8th overall NFL Draft pick Isaiah Simmons.

Top 2022 safeties features many top defensive back recruits, who can be utilized in a multitude of ways at the next level and possibly beyond. Most of the safeties listed above would make outstanding rover backs and a few may grow into OLB's with their physical style of play. Kamari Ramsey can pretty much do it all out of the defensive backfield and had 80 tackles, 4 interceptions & 15 pass deflections in the 2019 season. He is very fluent in his drops into zone coverage and is highly skilled in pass coverage, as he has exceptional burst and closing speed. Watching Kamari come down hill from the Safety position with his relentless pursuit, reminded me of Steelers first ballot Hall of Fame Safety Troy Polamalu. They both play the game with high intensity and are relentless in stopping the run, while having the ability to cover the entire field and create turnovers. Top safety recruits should check out the body of work first ballot NFL Hall of Fame Safety Troy Polamalu was able to put together, throughout his illustrious career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. I am not sure if Troy's 247 Sports profile is 100% accurate, but if it is, Palamalu is another legacy who only needed one chance to prove himself and made history in the process. Not just with his Head & Shoulders commercials either, but with some of the most exhilarating plays we have seen out of the defensive backfield in NFL history.
